Born in Sri Lanka and raised in Long Beach, CA, Tanya Selvaratnam is a writer and an Emmy-nominated and Webby-winning producer. She has been an organizer for many large-scale events, such as the 1995 Beijing Women’s Conference, the 1999 WHO Kobe Conference on Women and Tobacco, the 2014 artist convening spearheaded by Carrie Mae Weems at the Guggenheim Museum, and the 2019 Vision & Justice Convening spearheaded by Sarah Lewis. She has also been the executive producer of Planned Parenthood’s UNSTOPPABLE campaign and Glamour Women of the Year.
